Doncic has 60-21-10, rallies Mavs to wild OT win over Knicks

When Luka Doncic made an incredible basket with zero seconds remaining in regulation, he was convinced he had won the game.

Certainly nothing to worry about. This unprecedented triple-double in the NBA is about to be set up by the Dallas great.

Doncic scored 60 points to set a franchise record, added 21 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists as the Mavericks rallied for a 126-121 overtime win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night.

The 23-year-old player grabbed the rebound and made the 11-foot jump shot in one fluid move, prompting wild celebration from the sparse audience that had come to the game anticipating a loss.

With 1.0 seconds left, the score was tied at 115.

Doncic stated, “A lot of people asked me about this back in the locker room, and I replied I believed we won it.” That’s why I presented myself to the crowd in this way. The scoreboard said that we had won, but now I see that it’s tied. When that happened, my initial reaction was “Oof.”

Dallas was behind by nine points with 33 seconds remaining in regulation when they tied the game on an offensive rebound and an offensive rebound and an intentional miss by Doncic.

Doncic had a career-high 10 rebounds in Dallas’ first 60-point game, making it the first 60-20-10 game in NBA history. The young Slovenian earned the biggest scoring game of the season and his eighth triple-double.
