Edwards scores 29, short-handed Wolves beat Nuggets 124-111

On Monday, the Timberwolves defeated the Nuggets 124-111 behind 29 points from Anthony Edwards. Despite a strong third quarter from Denver, the Wolves were able to hold on thanks to Edwards’ efforts.

Minnesota broke a six-game losing run with a victory over Denver, led by Jaden McDaniels’ 21 points and Kyle Anderson’s 19.

Beginning early in the third quarter, the Nuggets launched their drive behind the playmaking of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. In response, Edwards scored 10 of the Timberwolves’ final 12 points of the quarter to give them the lead for good.

Edwards remarked, “They tell me.” when asked about his colleagues’ urging him to take charge. For the most part, these men tell it like it is. Take charge now! Someone informed me at the start of the third quarter after the first time, “Alright, take this game over.”

Despite a scoreless first half, Jokic finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists, while Murray chipped in 14 points. Despite Bones Hyland’s 18 points off the bench and Denver’s victory at home against Boston on Sunday, the team’s slow start in the second game of a back-to-back doomed them.

With a 10-2 record, the Nuggets were undefeated in their last 12.

Malone claimed that Minnesota had a “more urgent, more frantic, and wanted it more” attitude. If they play well, they should win the game. Disappointing. Last night’s victory was impressive, but at this point it doesn’t matter. Tonight, you returned the favor by giving it straight back.
