Kyrie Irving going to the Dallas Mavericks

It looks like Kyrie Irving’s desire will come true. He’s going through a trade.

And Dallas has added another All-Star to aid Luka Doncic.

The Mavericks and Nets reached a massive trade agreement on Sunday, with super-talented and mysterious eight-time All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving heading to Dallas and ending a combo with Kevin Durant that never truly clicked.

A source familiar with the arrangement told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity that the Nets are re-acquiring Spencer Dinwiddie in exchange for Dorian Finney-Smith and a package of draft selections. Markieff Morris is also joining Dallas.

The trade was initially reported by The Athletic and ESPN. All NBA deals are finalized when the respective teams speak with the league.

Irving informed the Nets two days ago that he wanted to be transferred before Thursday’s league deadline due to failed contract extension discussions. There was no sign of him at the Nets’ game on Saturday, and by Sunday afternoon, it looked like his time with the team he supported as a kid in New York and New Jersey had come to an end.
