Nets push winning streak to 9 with 125-117 win over Cavs

Losing is the only exciting thing about the Brooklyn Nets right now.

After beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 125-117 on Monday night, the Brooklyn Nets’ winning run is now at nine games, thanks in large part to 32-point efforts from Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

The Nets held on despite Darius Garland scoring 46 points to lead the Cavs back in the fourth.

After months of distractions, most of which centered on Irving’s off-court antics, Brooklyn has won 13 of 14 and is starting to look like an NBA title candidate.

After fouling out in the last two minutes, Durant remarked, “To be honest, we’ve always been about basketball.” “From the outside, it may appear like we couldn’t care less about the game, but there are a lot of people talking smack about our locker room who have no idea what’s going on.

We’ve never been interested in anything but winning.

For the Nets, T.J. Warren scored a season-high 23 points as they defeated Milwaukee by 18. The Bucks are one of the teams the Nets are pursuing in the Eastern Conference rankings.

With a 20-foot shot in the second quarter, Durant surpassed Tim Duncan (26,496) and into 15th place on the all-time scoring record. Durant will face Dominique Wilkins in his next match (26,668).
